Chassis Restoration On Jig

Older classic cars have a separate steel chassis beneath the bodywork. It is vital that this component is sound, strong and correctly aligned; after all, it is the 'foundation' on which the rest of the car is built.

We usually completely strip the chassis down and shot blast it: This reveals all the (often hidden) problems. We then mount it on our jig, triangulate it to assess its trueness and commence our repairs using steel of equal or greater strength than original. We always ensure that our repairs are as invisible as possible - usually completely so. After repair, it is primed and painted ready to be used as the 'foundation' of the subsequent restoration.
